Baluch: The Baluch, a mainly Sunni ethnic group with their own distinct language and culture have ties tothe Baluch people of Pakistan. They inhabit a region roughly the size of France, however the area isarguably the most underdeveloped region in Iran. According to some estimates, over 80 percent of the Baluch live below the poverty line, making Iranian Baluchistan the region with the lowest income per capita inside the Islamic Republic.
