Iranian Turkmen

Iranian Turkmen are a traditionally nomadic people, who once lived inmakeshift villages raising sheep, cattle, camels, horses, goats, etc. In recent times, they have become less rooted to this lifestyle, but their tribal customs still play a prominent role in their communities.  Because of their distance from urban areas and vast cultural and language differences, the Turkmen people suffer from many social challenges, including lack of education.
